BentoHR

Today Matt is the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at BentoHR where he is simplifying digital transformation, the Founder of Global HR Summit and a thought leader for immersive technologies like virtual reality where he aspires to make work better for everyone. Our students appreciated Matt’s deep thought leadership in the future of HR technology and analytics, but his perspective on architecting change left a lasting impression for change leaders. Check out some of Matt’s keen advice below:

“As the change architect - you don't have all the answers. And it's ok to say that you don't know; that you're not sure this will work. But give them complete confidence in your process. Assure them that you'll solicit their feedback, and where appropriate, take actions from it. Give them confidence that if things don't go according to plan - that you'll change course. Putting change in a black box will not result in success. Instead, embrace failure; architect your initiatives to fail, with the expectation that it will. That you'll create vehicles for people to share feedback; leveraging technology to meet them where they're at, and ask the tough questions. That you'll measure sentiment, engagement and adoption; reporting it transparently to build trust, sustain momentum and achieve the goals of the initiative. Because in this future of work - no one (yet) has a clear vision of where we're going. Saying otherwise erodes your credibility, and by extension, confidence in the change."

Putting change in a black box will not result in success.

Thank you, Matt, for imparting your wisdom with the HCM Change Management class.
