Webinar: Taking a Communication Perspective: At Work, At Home, In Community

This webinar will focus on the different perspectives people in communication bring to their interactions and how this affects how meaning is made.

Dr. Beth Fisher-Yoshida, Academic Director of the Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, will apply the theory and practice of Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) to three scenarios reflecting work, home, and community. CMM is a practical communication theory that is built on the three principles of coherence, coordination, and mystery. The three cases will highlight the ways in which these three principles play a role in how meaning is made to foster collaboration or conflict.
