Sharing Sensitive Stories Online: Qualitative Research with Interdisciplinary Arts & Abortion with Sarah Webb, MFA, CPA ’22

The silence (and silencing) of untold abortion stories helped opponents control the narrative around abortion and eventually overturn Roe v. Wade. In response, Sarah Webb created “Unspoken,” an online archiving project where women could safely reflect on their experiences with terminating unintended pregnancy.

Webb will present “Unspoken” and address how qualitative research methods guided the exhibition process to create an online exhibition space for women to safely share sensitive stories. She will address how other disciplines might adopt such a model in interdisciplinary creative fields.
