Dorlene Curwen

Assistant Director of the Career Design Lab

Dorlene Curwen was appointed in June 2022 as an assistant director of the Career Design Lab at the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University. Her arrival shows the University’s continued commitment to investing in professionals to assist in the successful transition of their students into the workforce.

Curwen is a Ph.D. student at Fordham University and holds an M.S. in Career Development from The College of New Rochelle and a B.S. in Business Management from St. John’s University’s Tobin School of Business. She is passionate about helping students carve out successful career blueprints, leading to significant returns on their educational investment.

Curwen is skillful in presenting strategies for resume writing, job interviews, and in connecting the right jobs with the right people. Her much-talked-about workshops and one-and-one mentoring sessions have served to arm her students with the necessary tools to make sound and effective career decisions. Many of her students have credited her with their immediate and successful transitions into the job market.
