Save the Date for the 2022 SPS Graduation Ceremony

Dear SPS Students, Faculty, and Staff:

I am pleased to share the exciting news that the SPS Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2022 will be held in person on the South Lawn on Friday, May 13, 2022. Then on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, the Columbia University Commencement ceremony of the 268th academic year will take place in person on Low Plaza.

SPS will divide our celebration into two ceremonies on May 13, with a morning ceremony at 10:00 a.m. and an afternoon ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Each event will have its own faculty speaker and student speaker. In the coming weeks we will announce the esteemed faculty members who will deliver the inaugural SPS Faculty Address to their respective audiences.

At 10:00 a.m., we will celebrate the candidates for graduation from the following programs:

Applied Analytics
Construction Administration
Human Capital Management
Insurance Management

Wealth Management

At 1:30 pm., we will celebrate the candidates for graduation from the following programs:

Actuarial Science
Bioethics
Enterprise Risk Management
Information and Knowledge Strategy
Narrative Medicine
Nonprofit Management

Sustainability Management
Sustainability Science

In the coming weeks, candidates for graduation will receive further information, including how to register and order regalia, from the Office of Student Life. All guests will need to abide by University COVID-19 guidelines and policies, and vaccination will be required to access campus.

Further, Columbia will welcome the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 for a campus celebration on Thursday, May 19, 2022. I am also pleased to announce that SPS will host a special event for these two classes together on that day. Alumni who graduated virtually these past two years will have the long-awaited opportunity to celebrate in person as a School. We will be consulting with Student Government leaders from each graduating class as we refine our plans. Details are forthcoming.

I am so proud to welcome these three graduating classes to campus and celebrate all of their extraordinary accomplishments. I also encourage all students to attend the Town Hall on Wednesday, February 16, when we will have a chance to answer further questions and discuss what to expect during these upcoming celebratory gatherings.

Sincerely,

Troy
