How Columbia Is Keeping the Compact This Fall

The University has put a comprehensive COVID-19 safety plan in place for the fall semester. Columbia is committed to keeping you healthy by mandating masks indoors, enforcing vaccine adoption, conducting surveillance testing and contact tracing, and restricting visitors.

Wearing Masks Indoors
Everyone is required to wear face coverings inside. Keep six feet of physical distancing while eating and drinking indoors.

Vaccine Adoption
University faculty, staff, and students were given an August 2nd deadline to upload vaccine documentation, or apply for a religious or medical exemption.

Testing Program
Faculty, staff, and students will be selected at random to participate in the surveillance testing program. Voluntary testing is available, and the University is monitoring building wastewater.

Contact Tracing
The Contact Tracing Program initiates a discreet contact tracing process when a community member tests positive for COVID-19.

Restricting Visitors
Visitors may not enter campus buildings unless they have obtained special permissions and agree to adhere to the University guidelines.

Students, faculty and staff can do their part by keeping and promoting the Columbia Community Health Compact.
