Kevana Kerri Funches

Columbia Fellow 2022 | M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution - Tougaloo College

Kevana Funches is a 2022 HBCU Fellow at Columbia University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the historic Tougaloo College. Kevana is passionate about advocating for civic engagement in marginalized communities, expanding communal knowledge through reading stories written by black authors, and supporting communities. Kevana plans to use her master’s in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution to further her impact in politics by creating and advocating for policy that allows space for underrepresented communities to progress economically, academically, and in other areas that induce sustainability environments in today’s society. Kevana’s future plans include attending law school and becoming a public interest attorney, ultimately serving her community as an electee of public office.
