Roman Chernin

Part-Time Lecturer

Roman Chernin is a career logistician with over 25 years of experience working with U.S., foreign, and multinational businesses. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Global Trade Link, a veteran owned business, providing supply chain solutions by enabling international commerce transactions as U.S. Customs House Broker, freight forwarder, and common carrier. Previously, Roman spent 16 years in various management and executive roles with Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), one of the world's largest integrated international container transportation and terminal companies, and OOCL Logistics, a premier provider of intermodal logistics and supply chain management solutions. Before joining OOCL, Mr. Chernin worked as a Field Services Supervisor for Airborne Express, one of the largest express package delivery companies in the U.S. at the time.

Roman Chernin also serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy (reserves). Lieutenant Commander Chernin is a seasoned Supply Corps Officer, with a broad range of experience in military logistics, supply chain management and distribution, humanitarian assistance, risk assessment, and contract management. He deployed as a Defense Logistics Agency Joint Command Operations Officer to Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar, ensuring sustainment of both military and humanitarian operations.  Lieutenant Commander Chernin has also served as a Staff Officer/Advisor on supply chain and logistics matters to senior officers and a variety of headquarters elements around the globe.

Roman Chernin is also a proud member of the New York State Naval Militia and National Guard. Lieutenant Commander Chernin was mobilized in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to provide logistics and supply chain support to New York State’s initial COVID19 response.

Roman Chernin holds an active U.S. Customs Broker license, District of New York, from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection.
