The Smart Mission: NASA's Lessons for Managing Knowledge, People, and Projects

Smart Mission v4

Join us for a captivating book discussion with authors of "The Smart Mission: NASA's Lessons for Managing Knowledge, People, and Projects."

In their latest book, authors and project management experts Edward Hoffman and Larry Prusak challenge the conventional wisdom on project management, positioning human skills, knowledge, and expertise - not controls, processes, and tools - as the main drivers of success in today's project-based workplace. During this engaging conversation, the authors will draw on examples from NASA and other leading organizations across industries and around the globe to illustrate how successful organizations leverage knowledge-based cultures to execute successful projects at micro, macro, and global scales. Join us on Wednesday, March 29th, at 8:15 pm ET, either in person at Columbia’s Faculty House or via Livestream on Zoom. A networking reception for guests will follow the in-person discussion.

Agenda:

7:45 - 8:15: Check In

8:15 - 9:00: Discussion with authors

9:00 - 9:15:  Q & A

9:15 - 10:15: Networking Reception

In person space is limited. Please RSVP in advance. Online attendance is also available via Zoom. Not able to make it at the particular time? RSVP anyway, and we will send you the recording.
