Construction Administration Speaker Series: Development and Construction for the Entrepreneur

Please join students, alumni, faculty, and industry leaders for a reception, presentation, and Q&A with Francisco Pineda, Program Director for the Master of Science in Construction Administration, as he takes us on a journey exploring the built environment and real estate development process from inception to completion from the vantage point of a successful entrepreneur.

  • 6:00 - 6:30 PM: Reception with light refreshments
  • 6:30 - 7:30 PM: Presentation and Q&A

Space is limited -- RSVP by Monday, August 22, 2016

The presentation, previewing a new course to be introduced in the fall, will focus on detailing the processes of analyzing potential acquisitions costs, planning, entitlement, and permitting through an examination of zoning, market factors and building codes, initiating pre-development requirements, orchestrating and assembling the key components of executing the construction phase to the closing and ultimate commercialization of a project. The presentation includes experiential considerations of how to build a business, mitigate risk, and manage vendors, employees, and service providers.

Development and Construction for the Entrepreneur is the final presentation in this summer’s Construction Administration Speaker Series, a series of presentations by industry leaders and experts focusing on topics of vital interest and importance to those involved in construction and related fields. We hope you can join us for the Fall Speaker Series. More details to come.
