Nanako Shirai

Nanako Shirai is originally from Japan but has lived in various places along the east coast of the US. She is currently a graduate student at the School of Professional Studies at Columbia as a Master’s of Science candidate in the Narrative Medicine program, after having graduated with a Molecular Biology degree from Princeton University. She has been involved in student government for most of her formative years, serving in various positions such as Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Officer, and Vice President. Her time in these positions has allowed her to develop into a leader who values listening, first and foremost, and that is what she hopes to continue doing as a Program Representative.
