Dan Cahill

'20SPS, Enterprise Risk Management; Commander, U.S. Navy

Dan Cahill is a Commander in the U.S. Navy (reserve) serving as an Information Warfare Officer where he identifies, reports on, and assists in mitigating operational and strategic level trends, threats, vulnerabilities, and risks that affect the U.S. Navy, the Department of Defense, and overall national security. He simultaneously works as a career civilian employee with the U.S. government, where he prevents the illicit and unintentional transfer of sensitive technologies to unauthorized foreign actors by partnering with public and private sector entities to identify and mitigate associated risks in research, development, production, sales, and logistics processes. As a former nuclear engineer, Mr. Cahill also serves as a technical expert on nuclear-related matters. 

Mr. Cahill previously served as an Assistant Inspector General of the U.S. Navy. He supported inspections, investigations, and inquiries into all matters of importance to the Department of the Navy, including work involving Big Data issues and cyber security. Mr. Cahill graduated from Columbia University, School of Professional Studies in 2020 with a Masters in Enterprise Risk Management.
