Joe Sevely has been teaching classes in Risk Management and Insurance for the past two years. He focuses on real life situations to show how certain patterns of behavior or corporate approaches can increase risk profile and sometimes lead to catastrophic results.
Sevely has over 30 years business experience in senior risk and financial management roles and on Wall Street. He recently retired as CFO of a fixed income asset manager following its sale to BNY Mellon. As CFO Sevely led the Risk Management, Finance, Operations, Information Technology, Legal and Compliance teams. Previously he served as Head of Market Risk Management and Treasurer of a publicly traded insurance company. He also worked for predecessor firms to Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase and BofA/Merrill Lynch in product development, derivatives and financial management capacities.
He received his MBA in Finance from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and an SB from MIT in Mathematics.
