Mary Ann Susavidge

Mary Ann Susavidge joined Bowhead Specialty in 2024 as Head of Environmental to develop a team to write pollution and professional coverage lines for a wide range of industries.  She is a motivated insurance industry leader with over 25 years of experience in insurance, risk management, and engineering consulting. She has demonstrated success in growing and sustaining profitable books of business and is uniquely qualified to assess and evaluate risk, develop risk management strategies, and provide tailored solutions across a diverse spectrum of businesses and industries. Mary Ann has held leadership roles at AXA XL, where she managed a diverse book of business spanning various specialty lines, with a GWP exceeding $600 million. Mary Ann served as the senior product line leader and then unit leader of the Environmental team for 16 years. She is also an instructor at Columbia University's Insurance Management MS Program, where she designed and facilitated the Underwriter course. Mary Ann holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and is a registered Professional Engineer. She also holds several professional designations, including Associate in Risk Management, Registered Professional Liability Underwriter, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, and Associate in Insurance Data Analytics
