Jesse Scinto

Deputy Program Director, Strategic Communication; Founder/CEO of Public Sphere

Jesse Scinto has been involved with the Strategic Communication program for more than 10 years and presently serves as Deputy Program Director and Lecturer in Professional Studies. He’s also the Founder/CEO of Public Sphere, a leadership communication firm. His writings have appeared in Fast Company, Forbes, and the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in organizational communication, Jesse’s research focuses on the link between leadership, social networks, and organizational resilience. In 2018, he received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar award to teach at the American University in Bulgaria. His project, “Communication for Commerce and the Common Good,” centered on the ethical use of persuasion in business and journalism.

Jesse is a longtime member of Toastmasters, the public speaking organization, where he earned the Distinguished Toastmaster award for leadership, communication, and service. He’s also active in community outreach, participating in programs for Harlem Children’s Zone, mentoring emerging professionals, and guest lecturing at neighboring institutions.

Prior to launching Public Sphere, Jesse spent two decades at leading agencies (FCB, Ogilvy & Mather, Harrison & Star). He was also once a professional saxophonist, touring with well-known blues artists and performing at the New Orleans Jazz Fest and Chicago Blues Festival.

Jesse lives in New Jersey, with his partner, Diane, and felines Lucky and Moose.

He teaches Critical Conversations and The Authentic Leader.
