Youth in STEM

Youth in STEM

In 2016, Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) launched the Columbia Youth in STEM Initiative. The program works in partnership with corporate and individual sponsors to improve STEM education for high school students in New York City. Students accepted to this program have an opportunity to learn core competencies in the STEM fields, develop leadership skills, and establish mentoring relationships with senior executives. The program serves to provide pathways for these exceptional students to pursue education and careers in the STEM fields.

Through the years, the program has expanded to work with National Geographic, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and the Miami Dolphins (NFL). A significant gift to the program would allow SPS to increase the number of students served by Youth in STEM and bring this impactful program to more cities across the United States where need is present.
