Robert Klitzman and Bioethics Students Publish Journal Article
Robert Klitzman, program director of Columbia University’s Bioethics graduate program, along with alumni Patrina Sexton, Donna Hanrahan, and Katrina Hui recently published an article in the journal Developing World Bioethics.
The article, published in the 16th volume, is entitled "Reviewing HIV-Related Research in Emerging Economies: The Role of Government Reviewing Agencies." Klitzman and co-authors conducted phone interviews with researchers, ethics personnel, and government employees. They spent nearly two years investigating how “Ministries of Health and other government agencies play pivotal roles in the research ethics approval process.”
