Ryvey Rahman

SPS Tutor

Ryvey Rahman [He/Him] is a graduate student in Columbia University’s M.S. in Applied Analytics program. He enjoys helping students make technical concepts feel more approachable and practical, particularly in Machine Learning, Python, and Tableau. Before coming to Columbia, Ryvey worked in business operations and strategy, where he used data, forecasting, and dashboards to support real-world decision-making.

Ryvey is most looking forward to helping tutees build confidence when working with technical and analytical material. Having transitioned into analytics from a business background himself, he understands that subjects like programming and machine learning can sometimes feel overwhelming at first. As a tutor, he hopes to break complex problems into manageable steps, help students understand the reasoning behind what they are doing, and encourage them to become more independent learners. He is also excited to learn from the different academic and professional backgrounds that SPS students bring to the tutoring program.
