Azmat Aulakh

Azmat Aulakh is a construction and infrastructure leader whose work spans program and construction management, business strategy, organizational development, and public-sector capital programs.
He currently serves as Lead for the New York/New Jersey region at JGM, where he supports regional operations, business development, and the delivery of construction and program management services for major public-sector clients. His experience includes transportation infrastructure, aviation, capital programs, strategic planning, and the development of small and diverse businesses within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
Azmat was recognized by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) with the Emerging Young Professional Award for his contributions and leadership within the construction management profession.
He is also the founder of URBANIZER, a consulting and advisory platform focused on helping emerging construction and professional services firms strengthen their operations, strategy, and long-term growth. His work reflects a particular interest in entrepreneurship, organizational capacity building, and creating pathways for small and diverse firms to participate in major capital programs.
In the classroom, Azmat brings a practitioner’s perspective, connecting academic concepts with the realities of construction management, project delivery, leadership, and business development in the built environment.
