SPS Next

SPS Next is an annual platform for SPS students to take the stage and speak about topics they are passionate about. This is the event where students can showcase their skills, share their ideas, and display their thought leadership. The speakers will be selected by a review committee. After being selected each speaker will receive coaching by esteemed SPS Faculty with extensive experience in public speaking, to deliver their best talks yet.

Speaker Selection

Every SPS Student can submit a pitch to become a speaker at SPS Next. We are committed to giving every student the opportunity to participate in, and contribute to this event. The student will have to submit a 2-minute pitch in which they describe their idea. 

This pitch will be evaluated by a review panel which has been especially created for the purpose of SPS Next. The review panel consists of representatives from SPS Staff, SPS Faculty and SPS Student Government. Together they will evaluate all the submissions and decide on the final four speakers.

Any SPS student can apply to be a speaker. Speakers applications for SPS Next 2024 are now closed.

Coaching

After each speaker has been selected they will be paired up with a coach. Each coach is carefully selected from SPS Faculty and has extensive experience in public speaking. The coaches will assist the speakers in any way possible to hone their skills, develop their talk and practice their delivery. 

Rewards

Speakers will receive a prize package to celebrate their achievement at SPS Next. They will receive an interview with the SPS Communication department, guest tickets for friends and family to attend, and a surprise prize package worth up to $100!
