Tom Richardson on March Madness Media Consumption

Tom Richardson, lecturer in the Sports Management graduate program and founder of consulting firm Convergence Sports & Media, recently spoke with the International Business Times about March Madness fans and their media consumption. Although many fans watch NCAA basketball games through live streams on their browsers or mobile devices, a cable subscription is still necessary. After a three-hour free trial, users will be required to log in with their TV subscription to continue watching. 

Richardson pointed out that the proposition may be disappointing to young, digitally savvy viewers, who seek low- or no-cost, streaming entertainment.
