Nimet Beriker, Ph.D.

Lecturer

Dr. Nimet Beriker currently serves as a lecturer in Columbia University's Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Program. Previously she was a Peace Research Oslo (PRIO) Global Fellow, and the founding faculty member and the coordinator of Sabanci University’s Graduate Program on Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Istanbul, Turkey.

Her research on negotiation, dynamics of third party intervention, and middle power foreign policy appeared in various journals including: Simulation and GamingJournal of Social Psychology;  Security Dialogue;  The Brown Journal of World Affairs;  Journal of Applied Social Psychology; and Negotiation and Conflict Management Research.  Dr. Beriker provided advisory services to International Academic Advisory Council for the Mediation Initiative of the Department for Political Affairs of the UN Secretariat; the OSCE Mediterranean Contact Group; and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As for her field engagements; she has offered numerous conflict resolution, mediation training, and has facilitated workshops with a number of government agencies, national and international NGOs, and community groups with a focus on refugee inclusion and youth participation.
