Mark Hoffmann

Lecturer, Actuarial Science

Mark Hoffmann serves as Head of Analytics for a large P&C insurer. Mark’s team designs actuarial models, tools, and reports that aim to classify and price risks. His efforts have touched upon various products such as Commercial General Liability, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, and Hospital Professional Liability.

Prior to his current role, Mark worked as a consultant for a big four accounting firm. He was the lead predictive modeler for actuarial engagements, and he also assisted with traditional actuarial reserve reviews.

Mark earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2003, and he became a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2008.
