John W. Zinsser

Lecturer, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

John W. Zinsser is animated by the belief that increasing the quantity of quality human communication drives individuals and organizations to higher achievement and realization of their aspirations. Since co-founding Pacifica Human Communications, LLC. nearly 30 years ago, Fortune 500 and global companies, as well as governments and private institutions, have asked Zinsser to help them expand conflict management and communication capacities. As a designer, assessor, speaker, and award-winning ombuds, Zinsser continuously raises his voice for the benefit of humanizing organizations, by courageously and compassionately addressing the challenges too many choose to avoid.

Today, Zinsser continues this work in the exceptional context of the International Committee of the Red Cross. He is also proud to lecture on the topic of organizational ombuds for the Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Program.

More of his approaches on how to improve human connection and communication are explored in his talks for Creative Mornings and TEDx: Compassion, Risk, and Navigating from Storm to Agreement.

His personal enthusiasms—sailboat racing and poetry—also inform his work and lift his heart.
