Timothy Higdon

Lecturer, Nonprofit Management; CEO, Hearing Health Foundation

Timothy Higdon has 30+ years of leadership and management experience in nonprofits, military and the private sector. His career has focused on the nonprofit sector in interim and permanent senior leadership roles. Organizations he has consulted or served include New York University Langone Medical Center, Hunter College Foundation, Girl Scouts of the USA, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Environmental Defense Fund, Episcopal Relief and Development, The Nation Institute, The National Constitution Center and Amnesty International.  He is currently the CEO of Hearing Health Foundation.

He successfully held senior enterprise leadership positions at CCS Fundraising and Girl Scouts of the USA.  As a consultant, he focused on leading small to medium sized capital campaigns, executive-level interim leadership roles, fundraising consultation, and training and coaching for nonprofit organizations and leaders.

He is a part-time lecturer in the M.S. of Nonprofit Management Program at Columbia University's School of Professional Studies and has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Fundraising at New York University’s Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. He has developed and taught multiple fundraising and leadership courses including governance, major gifts and capital campaigns for organizations of all sizes. 

Timothy is a former Army Major who served fifteen years in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He holds degrees from Indiana University (B.S.) and New York University (M.P.A.).
