Columbia University’s M.S. in Strategic Communication program will be an exhibitor during this year’s in-person IABC World Conference from June 26th–June 29th in New York City. The 2022 conference will be the first in-person conference in over two years.

Dr. Lilian Ajayi-Ore, Strategic Communication lecturer and data scientist, will conduct a session on Digital Communication Strategy masterclass on Sunday 26th, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. The masterclass will be an opportunity to gain access to the critical skills needed to expand an organization’s approach to social media, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and visualization, while investigating how these constantly-evolving technologies can disrupt various industries.

Dr. Ajayi-Ore is also the founder of an award-winning non-profit organization, Global Connections for Women Foundation.

Also representing Strategic Communication is Trisha Bauman. Bauman is an associate faculty member as well as alumna of the program, and CEO and Founder of TJBauman LLC, a New York consultancy advising organizations and senior executives seeking to strengthen sustainability initiatives and stakeholder engagement for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact. She will join other industry leaders as part of a plenary session panel, “Changing the Conversation: Communicating Climate Science.”

On the same panel also representing Columbia University will be Dr. Marco Tedeso, Lamont Research Professor, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of the Columbia Climate School. Dr. Tedeso is also an adjunct scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

The session will address the climate emergency as a global threat and discuss the most effective ways to translate technical and scientific concepts into accessible language.
