When Supriya Venkatesan, an alumna of the Master’s Program in Strategic Communications program, was discharged from the army and returned home to the U.S. after serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, she found herself “with questions about the world and grappling with [her] own mortality and morality.”
Meditation helped her become a civilian again, freed her from habits and fears, and “created small but significant changes,” including increases in her happiness and empathy.
