2023 Weeks of Welcome

Welcome back! The Offices of Student Life, Wellness, and Support have organized thirteen events that offer new and returning students opportunities to socialize with peers, explore New York City, and participate in one-of-a-kind experiences. Events include Broadway shows, sporting events, campus tours, and workshops on a variety of subjects.

Students have the chance to attend Funny Girl, starring Lea Michele as Fanny Brice, and Chicago, a Grammy- and Tony Award-winning musical full of iconic songs and extraordinary dance numbers. To experience both a professional hockey game and a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, SPS invites students to the New York Rangers Pride Night. Spend a Friday night watching the Rangers play in their pride-themed warm-up jerseys with hockey sticks decorated with rainbow tape!

Weeks of Welcome also includes academic and educational opportunities. SPS offers workshops on academic writing; research and citation; and self-care and wellness. Students can also learn more about the Columbia experience and familiarize themselves with campus resources by attending events including the Welcome Reception; Welcome to NYC: A Beginners Guide; Navigating Columbia & Grad School 101; and 45-minute campus tours.

Weeks of Welcome offers something for everyone. Learn more and register for these events on SPS Engage.
