Lecturer; Vice President, Team Finance, National Basketball Association (NBA)
Rob Gerbe serves as the primary point of contact for Team CFOs, Controllers and other financial representatives on various audits, initiatives, and other League projects for the National Basketball Association (NBA). He manages the Combined Financial Statements and Basketball Related Income audits, which involve analysis of Team and League financial performance in connection with revenue sharing, salary cap, and Board of Governors reporting.
Gerbe joined the NBA in December 2014 from Madison Square Garden, where he served as Vice President, Finance within the MSG Sports division. He focused on marketing partnerships, suites, sales compensation, and other special projects.
Prior to MSG, Gerbe spent five years at the New York Mets as Senior Director/Assistant Controller. He prepared budgets, forecasts, month-end close packages, and oversaw various reports to Major League Baseball (MLB) and other parties, including those relating to revenue sharing and new ballpark analyses.
Prior to the New York Mets, Gerbe was a manager within the audit practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was the lead corporate manager on the MLB revenue sharing audit and worked on other large public company audits, including Moody’s and Sony Corporation of America.
Gerbe is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
