Mysore Nagaraja

Faculty Affiliate, Construction Administration; Adjunct Professor of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics

Mysore Nagaraja is a proven leader and innovator who has successfully planned and delivered the largest urban transportation construction projects in North America, winning international acclaim and accolades. He is also a recognized leader in sustainability and green design and is very well respected in the construction industry for his resolution of contract disputes. In his most recent position at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Nagaraja was responsible for advancing the MTA’s multi-billion-dollar capital system expansion projects, including East Side Access, the Second Avenue subway, and the 7 train extension to the West Side of Manhattan. Nagaraja is a licensed professional engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey and is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a professional member of the American Institute of Steel Construction, and a board member of New York Building Congress. He received the Milton Pikarski Distinguished Leadership in Transportation Award from City College (CUNY) in 1998, was named Municipal Engineer of the Year in 2000, received the Green Star Award for Environmental Management in 2002, was named Person of The Year from CMAA in 2003, and won the Lifetime Achievement Award from USDOT in 2008.

Mysore Nagaraja teaches courses offered through SEAS Department of Civil Engineering.
