Matthew Frank

Lecturer; Director, Alvarez & Marsal

Matthew Frank is a data scientist and financial analyst with over 10 years of experience in banking, insurance, and industry.

As a Director at Alvarez & Marsal, Frank's work in risk management includes modeling risks at a large state health insurer. The insurer’s regulatory filing included his quantitative assessments of its competitive pressures and potential data breaches. Frank has also developed and automated an anti-money laundering system for a cryptocurrency exchange.

Frank began his career at Goldman Sachs, on the trading floor for currency derivatives, and in investment banking for equity derivatives. His next focus was water finance at Aqueous Advisors, and he currently works with Alvarez and Marsal at Artis Energy, predicting clients’ energy usage to help them reduce costs. A recurring theme in his work is tackling thorny problems by finding and aggregating disparate sources of data.

Frank is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder, and a Professional Risk Manager.
