Lecturer; Director, Regulatory Affairs, Healthfirst
With over 14 years of experience in the health insurance industry, Joshua Timari, MSJ, is responsible for government contract compliance and regulatory change management for multiple lines of business at Healthfirst, one of the largest public program health insurers in New York State. Over the course of his career, Timari has held various operational leadership positions in both commercial insurance and government programs.
Timari has expertise in financial solvency regulation within both New Jersey and New York, and the structure of government programs in both states. He also has vast experience negotiating with regulators in both New Jersey and New York, encouraging innovation in regulatory change implementation.
Prior to health insurance, Timari began his career in the public pension fund industry, representing the second largest pension fund in New York State as a liaison to one of the largest unions in the state. In this role, he helped to bring about an advanced initiative to increase the efficiency in processing fund transaction requests, decreasing delays and improving stakeholder satisfaction.
As an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University, Timari enthusiastically brings his expertise and experience to the classroom as he strives to promote an optimal and successful learning experience for each student.
