Grace Lin

Lecturer; Senior Project Manager at CBRE, Inc.

Grace Lin is a Senior Project Manager at CBRE, Inc. seasoned professional who has extensive knowledge and experience in construction project management. Her expertise spans a comprehensive spectrum of capital project management functions. 

Her professional experience has a track record of achieving optimal design and construction project outcomes. She possesses a broad-based knowledge that benefits real estate development, capital facility program, strategic planning, construction project management, project delivery, sustainability management, architecture, and interior design consulting and management services.  

She transitioned from the global architectural firms to the Owner’s side in 2010 when she joined Columbia University Irving Medical Center where she spent six years delivering complex capital projects for a large Ivy League institution. Currently, she serves as senior project manager at CBRE where she performs as the Owners’ representative delivering capital projects. She provides strategic input and recommendations on campus planning, programming, standardization, design, construction, and sustainability strategy. She drives and coordinates design and construction collaboration; administers the RFP and bidding processes, contract negotiation, TVD, value engineering, QA/QC, project controls, commissioning, project closeouts, and legal occupancy. She assembles and manages a diverse team that is consist of key internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects’ objectives and clients’ goals are met.  

Grace’s brings a unique approach to leadership, management, and customer service by incorporating her knowledge of sustainability management. Her key strengths are the willingness to take initiative, as well as her organizational and management skills.

Grace currently serves as the Chair of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Project Delivery Knowledge Community Leadership Group. She leads a knowledge community of about 10,000 members on developing and sharing knowledge around all forms of project delivery. She promotes the profession’s leadership role in project delivery systems through collaboration with the design and construction industry nationwide. She engenders wealth of perspectives, fosters innovation, fortifies commitment for continuous improvements.  

Grace is a Construction Document Technologist (CDT) as certified by the Construction Specification Institute (CSI). She teaches Construction Project Management.
