Erika Duran

Lecturer; Senior Sustainability Consultant, WSP USA

Erika Duran is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at WSP USA. Her work has focused on using the dialogue of sustainability as a tool to integrate project teams and invite designers to explore solutions that are typically considered too challenging or cost prohibitive. She is interested in expanding the role of the project integrator as a fundamental role of the design and construction process.

With a Master of Arts in Architecture, and a Bachelor’s degree in Horticultural Science both from the University of Florida, Erika is familiar with the non-linear path involved in integrating disciplines. She is driven by her love of science and fascination with building systems.

As an educator, Erika is well versed in various frameworks of sustainability and their respective themes and areas of action. She has extensive experience in LEED Green Associate and Accredited Professional Trainings as well as the development of rating systems such as the Green Schools Guide 2019.

Prior to joining WSP, Erika directed LEED project management at Dagher Engineering. Her experience includes management of hydroponic greenhouse systems and sustainable agricultural practices at Walt Disney World. She also worked with rooftop hydroponic greenhouses in New York City. Currently, she is working with 100 Resilient Cities to propose resilience-based solutions to school investments in Cali Colombia.
