Anita Drummond is an attorney who works on strategic, complex business management issues impacting international nonprofits. She specializes in charity and social enterprise.
Currently, she is Assistant General Counsel at the American Cancer Society, an organization with a global public health agenda that works closely with private and public sector organizations.
Before coming to the Society, Drummond was in private practice at Venable LLP and a long-serving senior director at The Nature Conservancy, an international non-governmental organization. At the Conservancy, she led a legal corporate services team doing work that spanned the globe in more than 40 countries.
Drummond has experience managing worldwide operational issues on multiple continents, assessing new geographies for operations, negotiating complicated partnership arrangements and agreements for revenue from international funders and corporations, and creating investment vehicles for entrepreneurial social impact companies. She has also served in positions with various trade associations and the Clinton Administration.
