Master of Professional Studies in Wealth Management


The goal of the Master of Professional Studies in Wealth Management is to prepare the next generation of advisors who work with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and endowments to grow and manage wealth. Coursework is completed via Columbia’s flexible online learning platform along with two in-person residencies in New York City. The program requires 30 points and takes up to two years to complete. Only fall entry is available.

  • Understand and respond to the demands of a changing industry and evolving regulatory measures.
  • Learn a holistic goals-based approach to investment planning.
  • Engage in coursework aligned with the skills needed to pass the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam.

  • Fund managers and other finance/investment professionals who plan to become wealth advisors.
  • Current wealth management advisors, including family offices, looking to train current team members to become advisors.
  • Wealth advisors who would like to start their own Registered Investment Advisor
