Fred Kauber Biography

Fred Kauber currently serves as Managing Director and CTO of CAIS Group, where he is responsible for all marketing and technology initiatives for the leading open-architecture financial product platform for independent wealth management professionals. In this capacity, he has led the transformation of the CAIS platform with an intense focus on client experience, product delivery and robust integration with other major wealth management platforms to provide financial advisors with efficient access to CAIS’s diversified menu of funds and products.

Prior to joining CAIS, Kauber was the CTO of TRANZACT, a performance marketing firm which provides innovative customer acquisition solutions to Fortune 500 insurance companies such as Met Life and Mutual of Omaha via a hybrid software as a service (SaaS)/call center sales model. During his tenure at TRANZACT, he led the launch of solutions such as autoinsurance.com and directhealth.com to serve as comparative auto/health insurance quoting and purchasing portals for Walmart’s 150 million consumers. Kauber and his colleagues on the TRANZACT executive team presided over the company’s successful acquisition by White Mountains Insurance Group in 2014.

Kauber is an accomplished executive and consultant with over 25 years of experience in technology, online marketing, product management/development and operations leadership roles and has formally served in the role of CIO/CTO for more than half of his career at Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial ventures alike, including companies such as First Data Corporation and Bigfoot Interactive. He is also the founder of Digiventures Media Group, a boutique digital media advisory firm.

Kauber has led the delivery of Internet applications which have been recognized with CIO Web Business and Infoworld 100 awards and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on the topics of online marketing and enterprise application development and architecture, in addition to teaching enterprise technology strategy as an adjunct professor. He has been trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt and possesses a B.S., Computer Science from Manhattan College, an M.B.A., Finance & International Business from NYU as well as an M.S., Telecommunications from Pace University.
