Prof. Bruce Kahn Discusses Protecting the Environment While Scoring Higher Returns

Professor in the M.S. program in Sustainability Management Bruce Kahn appeared on financial news site TheStreet to discuss risk adjusted returns with regard to investing in environmentally sound companies.

Kahn says, "Being a good investor means taking into consideration all the factors – fundamental financial factors, as well as environmental, social, and governance performance of companies. The data shows that, if you manage those risks better and understand them better as investors, you will have a better risk-adjusted return."

"The key to understanding investments in themes such as water or energy or agriculture, is really understanding not only the technology...but all the ancillary data around those technologies. As farmers begin to bring out bigger and better farm systems that have big data associated with them, we can then manage these programs much more efficiently."
