Claudia Dreifus Interviews Nobel Laureate Dr. Eric Kandel

Claudia Dreifus, Adjunct Professor of International and Public Affairs and lecturer for the Master of Science in Sustainability Management program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, recently interviewed Nobel Prize-winning Columbia neuroscientist Dr. Eric R. Kandel for the 92nd Street Y.

Dreifus, who is also a renowned science writer for The New York Times, discussed with Dr. Kandel the science of thought, feeling, and memory, as well as his new book, The Disordered Mind: What Unusual Brains Tell Us About Ourselves, which shows how the neural disruptions behind difficult diseases like autism, depression, and addiction can also shed invaluable light on the processes of the brain.
