Our planet is trapped in an economic system based on the one-time use of fossil fuels and other material resources. Simply put, this is not sustainable. We need to develop and deploy the technology to create a renewable resource-based economy. The government at all levels has a role to play in this transition, through funding basic science, using financial tools to steer investment, investing in sustainability infrastructure, and developing a system to measure society’s progress towards these goals. The technological, social, cultural, economic and political transition to a sustainable economy has begun. This panel will explore the role that public policy plays in influencing behavior within organizations and among individuals, in order to facilitate and speed up that transition.

Reception to follow.

Open to the public. RSVP required. Photo ID required for building access.
