During Columbia Summer, Business Plus combines a course in oral communications with a course in finance, math, chemistry, computer science, or another quantitative topic, allowing you to improve your English language skills and communicate more effectively in a professional context.
You will work with an advisor to select your courses after admission. Upon successful completion of Business Plus, you will be eligible to receive an official Columbia transcript.
Offered during Summer Session 2
Open to students with a minimum TOEFL score of 85
a minimum SPS/ALP level of 7, or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5,
or an equivalent score on a Pearson or Cambridge test.
Session 2 application deadline: May 1, 2016*
*Current Columbia ALP students applying for session 2 must do so by May 13th.

This course is practice-oriented, aimed at equipping you with the oral communication skills you need to succeed in English-speaking business and social contexts.
You will practice planning and delivering an engaging presentation, participating successfully in meetings and negotiations, and communicating fluently and appropriately in social and professional settings.
Throughout the course, your instructor will provide practice and feedback to help you improve your English pronunciation, fluency, and grammar.
As a Business Plus student, you will join the community of Columbia students and faculty, and gain access to the Writing Center, a world-renowned system of libraries, and other University facilities and resources.
