Graduation Event Details
SPS Graduation Ceremony
This ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of the graduating students from the School of Professional Studies Class of 2018. Students' names are read as they process across the stage.
Students who have or anticipate degree conferrals in October 2017, February 2018, or May 2018 are invited to participate in SPS Graduation. Due to the growing number of eligible students in our graduating class, students with a conferral date of October 2018 or February 2019 may not walk in the May 2018 ceremony; however, they will be invited to participate in the May 2019 ceremony. Should we have availability and space, students will be contacted in late April to provide exceptions.
Date: Saturday, May 12, 2018
Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: South Lawn, Morningside Campus
Keynote Speaker: Gary Knell, CEO, National Geographic Partners
Reception: There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony on Ancel and Reveson Plazas.
Tickets: Degree candidates must register in order to participate in SPS Graduation. Tickets are not required for SPS Graduation; however, registration for guest count is required. Degree candidates may register up to four (4) guests.

Columbia University 264th Commencement
It is during the Commencement ceremony that your degree is officially conferred. All of Columbia’s schools participate in this event.
