2. Submit Your SPS Graduate Exit Survey which Includes Registration for the SPS Graduation Ceremony.
The brief SPS Graduate Exit Survey is required in order for you to attend the SPS Graduation Ceremony. Hearing about your experiences at Columbia University is critical to the ongoing success of our programs and we value your feedback! The Survey should take about 15 minutes to complete and we appreciate your thoughtful responses. Please share constructive feedback, both highs and lows, and feel free to be direct and candid. We will keep your answers private. As we are continually looking to improve our programs and services, your response is essential to understanding the student experience. Hence, completing the survey is required and your diploma will be released once you have done so. Students who have submitted an Application for Degree will receive an email from the Office of Student Affairs with a link to the survey and registration form.
Degree candidates must register in order to participate in SPS Graduation. Each graduate may register up to four (4) guests. After completing questions in the Graduate Exit Survey, you will be prompted to register yourself and your guests.
It is a centuries-old tradition in which the President of the University grants degrees en masse to graduating students from 18 schools, colleges, and affiliated institutions. During this ceremony, remarkable members of the Columbia community and special guests are also recognized through the conferring of medals, awards, and honorary degrees. It is Columbia tradition that the University Commencement address is given by the President of the University.
The Columbia University Commencement ceremony of the 264th academic year will take place on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. outdoors on the Morningside campus, rain or shine. All eligible May 2018 degree candidates, and February 2018 and October 2017 graduates, from all schools and colleges affiliated with Columbia University are encouraged to attend.
Family and friends of Columbia’s graduates are integral to the University Commencement celebration. Tickets are required for admission.
Graduates do not need a ticket for themselves. Registration for University Commencement, and the option to request tickets for up to two guests, will begin in early March. Please check your email in the coming weeks for a notice from the Office of Student Affairs on how to register and request guest tickets.
