Nonprofit Management Capstone Class Support Tuesday's Children

Last month, M.S. in Nonprofit Management students presented their capstone project report to their client, Tuesday’s Children. Tuesday’s Children, a New York City-based nonprofit, was formed in the aftermath of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, and is a response and recovery organization that supports youth, families, and communities impacted by terrorism and traumatic loss.

The spring 2017 capstone class worked with Tuesday’s Children’s leadership, staff, partners, and stakeholders to develop an organizational strategy that can be leveraged to further expand the group’s services and support other communities affected by acts of terror and large-scale violence.

When asked about her experience working with the students, Terry Grace Sears, Executive Director of Tuesday’s Children, said, “In a word, it was terrific. We were, as a team, struck by the students’ undeniable passion for the work … we could never have been more pleased. The student team was extremely comprehensive in their report and presentation. For us, this was a real win-win.”
