Cindy Lott Discusses New Report on Charities and the IRS

In a new feature in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, "Some Charities Misuse IRS Short Registration Form, Chronicle Data Suggests," data revealed that larger charity groups than anticipated have been using an IRS form aimed at small groups leading to indications of "abnormalities."

Cindy Lott, the director of Nonprofit Management programs at Columbia University's School of Professional Studies, noted that "For better or worse, the form’s introduction is now water under the regulatory bridge."
