3 Effective Negotiating Tips For Women

In a new interview on Progressive Women's Leadership, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Program Director Dr. Beth Fisher-Yoshida shows that women have an advantage when it comes to negotiation, and that's their ability to "meet people where they are."

For many women, according to Fisher-Yoshida, negotiation is like a tennis match, where the subjects come in prepared and have to roll with the outcomes. What's key for women is the idea of preparation, and working through some scenarios where they can have various outcomes in their head.

But most importantly, women need to approach negotiating as a win-win situation, or as Fisher-Yoshida put it: "Be accommodating, but use communication strategies that are true to you."
