Columbia University is honored to be joined by General (Dr) Julius Waweru Karangi who will speak on conflict resolution in the Horn and East Africa and his work with the United Nations as a peacekeeper. General Karangi is the current Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF). The Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF) is the highest-ranking military officer in the Kenya Defence Forces and the principal military adviser to the President of the Republic of Kenya and the National Security Council.
