Marsha Hurst

Marsha Hurst is a lecturer in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University and co-chairs the University Seminar on "Narrative, Health, and Social Justice." She is co-editor with Sayantani DasGupta of Stories of Illness and Healing: Women Write Their Bodies (2007) and has written, most recently, on palliative care, end of life, and narrative. As an advocate she sits on the New York State Palliative Care Education and Training Council, and is a working board member of the Westchester End of Life Coalition and of Project DOCC (Delivery of Chronic Care). Hurst holds an A.B. from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia.
