Dennis Green joined the staff of the Special Programs division of Columbia University’s School of General Studies in 1991, when he took over the administration of its growing program of short courses in business software and other computer-related areas. A few years later, he was appointed director of Computer Technology and Applications (CTA), a yearlong certification program with concentrations in database design/administration, network administration programming/ software development, and MIS. Under his leadership, additional tracks in UNIX, E-Commerce, and Geographical Information Systems were added.
When the School of Professional Studies was created in 2002, Green was promoted to the administrative directorship of the newly created Executive M.S. in Technology Management, and later assumed similar responsibilities for the M.S. programs in Construction Administration and Information and Knowledge Strategy.
Green completed a dual degree in English and Theater Arts at Emerson College and subsequently worked in the theater, publishing, and public relations fields before starting his career at Columbia.
