Yvette C. Burton Appointed Academic Director for Human Capital Management Program
Burton brings her significant executive experience to the program, including over 20 years in high-impact human capital strategies for the media, consumer, industrial product, and defense industries. Since 2015, she has served as Vice President of Workforce Solutions and Intelligence for Lockheed Martin, designing scalable workforce solutions to enable business growth and innovation. Prior to her tenure at Lockheed Martin, Burton was Director of Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Human Capital Consulting Practice for the consumer and industrial sectors.
She is an ideal fit for the school, which emphasizes faculty who are both scholars and leaders in their professions. “Business expectations, leadership needs, and employee demands are evolving faster than ever before. The SPS HCM program will help leaders acquire the leadership agility and business acumen to create strategies and solutions that business and HR leaders need to navigate a dramatically changing workplace,” Burton said.
An emerging challenge Burton hopes to tackle is the ability to engage employees with “new technologies across geographies and in real time. The HCM master’s program will prepare HR leaders for leadership in the digital workplace,” she said.
